The Entrepreneurial Performance Indicators (EPI)sm

EPISM is a set of three, 360-degree surveys designed to evaluate entrepreneurial organizations. In our research on successful entrepreneurs and their companies, we identified those leadership, management team and organizational culture dimensions that are related to financial success.

The purpose of these measures is to allow organizations to compare their current level of functioning with that of other successful entrepreneurial companies. Effective feedback assists entrepreneurial leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of their own behavior, the behavior of their management team, and the systems and norms operating throughout their organization.

The EPISM Leadership Survey measures 20 dimensions of critical leadership and management skill as identified by successful entrepreneurs. It measures the leader's skill from four perspectives: Self, Direct Reports, Subordinates (Levels below Direct Reports), and Other. The Other perspective is any group of people chosen by the leader as an important group from which to gain insight. This survey allows each leader to evaluate his or her skill level from both their and others' perspective. Leaders can then compare their current skill level with those skills needed to run a growing organization successfully or to move effectively into the next phase of growth or change.

Most importantly, the skills measured by EPI are positively correlated to bottom-line business performance. The research findings show that companies run by entrepreneurs who are rated highest in critical skill areas also have higher profits, sales growth, and return on investments.

Corporate Coaching Partners markets and supports the Entrepreneurial Performance Indicator (EPI) in Asia on behalf of Know-Metrics, and has accreditation in the administration, interpretation and feedback of the EPI instrument.
